Born on May 12, 1997, in Arkel, Netherlands, De Jong’s football journey commenced at Willem II in the Eredivisie, the top division in Dutch football. In 2016, he made a significant move to Ajax, gradually earning a place in the starting lineup. His versatility and exceptional vision allowed him to become the midfield orchestrator for the Amsterdam-based club.

With Ajax, De Jong achieved remarkable success, winning the Dutch league title and the Dutch Cup. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in Ajax’s memorable run to the semi-finals of the Champions League during the 2018/19 season, capturing the attention of football enthusiasts worldwide.

De Jong’s arrival at Camp Nou took place in the summer of 2019, and he made his debut against Athletic Club in San Mamés that August. In his second season at Barcelona, De Jong emerged as a vital component of Ronald Koeman’s team, finishing the campaign with seven goals and seven assists, showcasing his ability to contribute in both scoring and playmaking.
