A talented and versatile centre back hailing from Lillerød, Denmark. Born on April 10, 1996, Christensen began his football journey at IF Skjold Birkerød, where his skills caught the attention of Brøndby IF.
At the young age of 15, Chelsea recognized Christensen’s potential and invited him to join their youth system. On October 28, 2014, at just 18 years old, he made his professional debut for Chelsea against Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup.
In 2015, Christensen embarked on a loan spell with Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga. During his two seasons in Germany, he quickly established himself as a crucial player for the team, earning the title of Player of the Season and gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising defensive talents.
Returning to Chelsea in 2017, Christensen became an integral part of Antonio Conte’s plans. In subsequent seasons, he played a vital role in helping the London club secure their first-ever Champions League triumph and Club World Cup victory.
